Every project is different
We’ve been placing microphones in front of things since 2007 so we know one thing – every session is different. It doesn’t matter what you’re after we have the space, equipment, skills, contacts and knowledge to help you get the most out of your recording session.

Studios
If it’s just a space your after, we have 3 separate recording studios available by the hour. They are equipped to deal with anything from the intimacy of a podcast to the demands of an 8 piece string session.
We’ve housed recordings for those artists doing their first demo right up to legendary Grammy award winning artists.
Names to drop include Bon Iver, The Japanese House, Loyle Carner, Laura Marling and Beabadoobee. See About Us page for the full list of legends.
It really doesn’t matter who you are, Urchin Studios is open to everyone.

Engineering
If you not only need space, but a little sonic expertise to help guide you through your session then we are here to help.
We have a team of friendly and knowledgeable engineers that can help get that sound that’s in your head coming through the speakers.
Urchin engineers have recorded sessions by Nao, Florence and The Machine and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
Mixing
For those that have a project already recorded but just want that final polish, we offer a comprehensive mixing service.
This department is headed up by Dan Cox whose seasoned ears have mixed records by Laura Maring, Thurston Moore, and Peter Doherty.
So, do we mix analogue or digital? The (correct) answer is “It depends”. We don’t throw things through analogue gear for the sake of it – we use our ears to determine what’s best for the music.
What about vocal tuning or editing? Sure!

Production
A difficultly one to quantify this as production can mean different things to different artists.
So let’s put it like this; if you are searching for assistance with your project beyond the technicalities of recording and mixing we are here to help.
The Urchin Team have not only produced records with Laura Marling, Jordan Mackampa and Benjamin Francis Leftwich but are equally at home with those artists who are entering the studio for the first time.

Music production is at the core of Urchin Studios philosophy, but our studios are also great as a location for filming interviews, Tik Tok dances (Why not?) and whatever else you can think of.
